Project Scope

The historic Shelby Street Bridge (constructed in 1908) links Nashville's revitalized historic downtown with its new football stadium. Originally issued for vehicle access, the lighting program installation was scheduled to coordinate with its new adaptive reuse as a pedestrian-only by way. DGA's scope included the lighting of the bridge approach ramps, bridge lookouts, walkways, bridge super structure and support pylons. The design celebrated the lacy steel work with white light sources while supporting the concrete pylons with warmer, long-lived HPS sources.
