Springfield Redevelopment Authority
In 2011, DGA began collaborations with HDR on designing renovations and new facilities for Springfield’s Union Station Regional Intermodal Transportation Center. DGA’s scope of work includes architectural lighting design solutions for the façade of the new 139,000 sq. ft. bus terminal; renovation of interior and exterior public areas within the 120,250 sq. ft. historic terminal building; and reopening of a passenger tunnel providing safe, walkable connections from the terminal building to Amtrak station, platforms, and the street. This project is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification. The construction cost is currently estimated at $53.7 million, and project construction completion is scheduled for 2014.
