Project Scope

In 2012, DGA began work with PGAL on an interdisciplinary design effort to renovate and expand Terminal A at Newark International Airport. The new terminal is anticipated to have 33 gates and a new 3,000-space parking garage. In the Terminal, scope areas include concourses, boarding lounges, lobbies, sterile corridors, ticketing hall, arrival hall, security checkpoints, baggage claim, INS hall, FIS facilities, public circulation, stairs, retail, food service areas, meeter/greeter areas, APM connector, and departures/arrivals frontages. With an estimated construction completion date of 2016-18, this project is being designed to achieve LEED Silver and comply with PANYNJ Sustainability Guidelines.
