Project Scope

2011 saw completion of the renovation effort of this 7-story 284,000 sq.ft. courthouse constructed in the early 1960s. With a budget of $49 million, the primary impetus for the extensive rehabilitation of this facility was asbestos abatement, and the outgrowth of this enterprise was a complete redesign of all ceiling lighting systems, including offices, judges' chambers, libraries, and 11 district courtrooms. Our scope of work included a comprehensive existing conditions report and programming analysis of light level requirements comparing the latest GSA, US Courts and PBS guidelines, as well as lighting design services for all public areas within the courthouse complex.
